ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS
Ergonomic assessments evaluate workstations and job tasks to identify risk factors for discomfort or injury. Practical recommendations are provided to improve safety, comfort, and productivity in office, home, or physically demanding environments. During the assessment, education on ergonomic principles is provided to the worker, and interventions to improve workstation ergonomics are implemented immediately, if feasible.

A comprehensive report outlining findings and interventions, as well as product recommendations and costing lists if requested, are provided with each assessment.

Who can benefit from an ergonomic assessment?

Anyone can benefit from an ergonomic assessment. A safe, sustainable workstation is essential to both employees and employers. It helps employees stay safe and productive long-term, and helps employers reduce costs associated with work-injury claims.

FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES EVALUATIONS
Functional Abilities Evaluations assess an individual’s physical capabilities in relation to work demands. Using the WorkWell protocol for testing, these assessments measure strength, mobility, and tolerance for activity to help determine functional abilities/limitations and support safe return-to-work planning. They are performed for a variety of clients, including private insurers, WSIB, employers, etc.

A comprehensive report summarizing the assessment and findings is provided with each assessment. All FAEs are performed using the Core WorkWell FCE protocol, and job-specific testing can be performed per request.

JOB SITE ANALYSIS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS
A Physical Demands Analysis defines the physical requirements of a job, including strength, movement, and task demands. For employers, having an accurate PDA is essential for effective return-to-work planning, job matching, and injury prevention. It provides objective, detailed information that helps ensure workers are safely matched to job demands, reducing the risk of re-injury, improving communication with insurers, and supporting defensible workplace decisions.

These assessments usually involve the assessor visiting a jobsite and observing the job demands throughout the day, allowing them to categorize physical demands with standardized definitions. A "Job Site Analysis" is another assessment performed where the assessor categorizes job demands based on interviews with the employee and/or employer. A detailed report is provided to the employer, clearly outlining the frequency and intensity of the essential tasks of the job.
